COVID-19 Saleroom Information

The saleroom is currently open working behind closed doors following government regulations.   We will be open until Thursday the 21st of January for click and collect services and for pre arranged drop off appointments of items for our future auctions.   We will be closing the saleroom premises on the 21st of January, and hope to open the again on the 15th February subject to easing of lockdown restrictions.  We will be still available for enquiries and valuations by telephone or email.

 

We are aiming to hold our next auction on the 19th of March subject to government advice and the current situation.   Please monitor our website for further updates.

Online Sales

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic all auctions for the time being will be conducted online only, our next planned auction being the 19th of March. You can bid live here on our website, and we are also present on Easy Live Auction and The-Saleroom.com. There is an additional online live bidding fee for these services.

 

You can also bid for free on this website by leaving commission bids with the auctioneer, with telephone bidding available for higher value lots.

 

Smiths provide an excellent in-house postage service for most small to medium sized items in the sale. Please see our postage page for further information or telephone us to check your item or items can be posted.

 


 

Viewing

 

Under current lockdown restrictions, there is no 'in person' viewing available at the auction rooms.   Please view our catalogue online and direct any enquiries or condition reports to our email address.

 


 

Collections

Purchases can be collected from the saleroom door by appointment using a 'click and collect' method. Customers should wear a mask and use the sanitiser gel provided. Items should be paid for in advance via our online secure payment system or by bank transfer.

 

Furniture items can be collected from within the saleroom, but adequate manpower should be provided since we are unable to ask our staff to provide assistance.

 


 

Entering Items for Auction

At the present time under lockdown restrictions we are unable to have clients bring items into the saleroom. We are happy to provide a free valuation remotely by email, with a view to accepting the items into the premises once lockdown restrictions have eased. Consignments can be brought to the saleroom by appointment once we are re-open on the 15th February.

Our auctions are selling extremely well online and we encourage vendors to consign good quality items to take advantage of this currently buoyant market.
