Current Saleroom Information

 

Entries for our 19th of November sale are invited by appointment from the 20th October to the 2nd November. The sale includes a specialist section for jewellery and watches but also a full range of antiques such as furniture, silver, gold, paintings, ceramics, glass, pictures & collectables. Please telephone 01531 821776 to book an appointment at the saleroom. For larger consignments we can make a home visit.

Our next specialist Stamp, Coin & Postcard Sale will be on the 7th of January. Entries for this sale are invited now for valuation by our specialist consultants. Please note that the fully illustrated catalogue for this sale will be available online over the entire Christmas period ensuring a long period of exposure.

Please do ensure you are observing all Covid-19 government safety guidelines including wearing a mask and by ensuring you are not suffering from any Covid symptons or have had any potential Covid contacts within the last two weeks. 

 

 


 Bidding at our Auctions

We are delighted to now be able to welcome Buyers back to the saleroom for our viewings and auctions.  Alternatively you can bid live online or by commission or telephone bids left with the auctioneer. There is an additional online live bidding fee for these services. If you are confused by all the potential bidding options please telephone us and we will be happy to discuss the most suitable option for you.

Smiths provide an excellent in-house postage service for most small to medium sized items in the sale. Please see our postage page for further information or telephone us to check your item or items can be posted.

 


 Viewing

Our sales are open for viewing two days prior to the sale 10am to 5pm and on the morning of the sale from 9am till 10am. 

 


 Collections

Purchases can be collected from the saleroom by appointment. Items can be paid for in advance via our online secure payment system, by bank transfer or by card or cash at the saleroom. We will be open on the Saturday morning after the sale 10am-12noon and then Monday to Thursday 10am-5pm.  All items must be collected by the Thursday following the sale. 

We offer an excellent in house reasonably priced postage service for most small to medium items. Please ask for details if you are unsure about which items might be suitable for posting.

 


 Entering Items for Auction

Our next sale for auction entries is on the 19th November and we will be accepting entries from the 20th October to the 2nd November by appointment. If you are unable to attend the saleroom in person we can provide a free valuations remotely from photographs sent by email or a home visit can be arranged for larger consignments. Our auctions are selling extremely well online and we encourage vendors to consign good quality items to take advantage of this currently buoyant market.
